Cannot "Apply"

Postby MultiD Support » Fri Jul 04, 2008 9:55 am

Dear Amin,
Thanks for your response and your assistance. I have downloaded the Genex software yesterday. Today I have tried analysing my data. And naturally, there are some little problems for me.
I have some questions concerning pre-processing of the data. How can I add the data for RNA amount. I did not find out how can I define different groups or change the definition of groups.
Further, I was not able to do the inter-plate calibration. I selected the samples to calibrate and the samples I intended to use as calibrator, but the "apply" button was not active to do the calibration.
However, I hope that these are little difficulties when starting with Genex and I think that I will manage it with your further assistance....
So, I need some more training.....
I tried some options with ny data and I am convinced that the program will be a useful help for analysing the data, especially because of the graphical presentation of the results.

Kind regards and a nice week-end

Dear Rosemarie,

How can I add the data for RNA amount?

- You must add a columns to Genex "Grid->Column->Add".
- Click on "Allow edit" button to enable editing
- In the new column give the column the label "#RNA Amount" and edit the RNA amounts for each sample ('#' means that the column contains classification data and not measured data). the following is a simple
example:

My data RG1 RG2 #total RNA
A_1 23,1034 21,238977 100
A_2 23,0969017765965 21,2754477037806 100
A_3 23,0694968422424 21,171313219633 100
B_2 22,6065487557591 21,9868243035035 125
B_3 22,4985284495668 22,0371577364033 125

Apply button is available only when all the samples are either selected as samples to be normalized or your interplate Calibrator. This to minimize the risk for the user to miss a sample.

I think that you mean groups created in DataManager. Please look at the following viewlet and if you still have questions please let me know. In this viewlets a classification column has been define to group the sample.
In DataManager these columns are used to create groups. It not always required that you define columns. In DataManager you can create groups and the select the members directly.

There are other viewlets available at
