Delta Delta Ct method

Postby Claudia » Mon Jul 12, 2010 7:12 pm

Hello everyone

I have a problem about delta delta Ct method. I read that this method is used for quantification of %GMOs without using a calibration curve. Is this possible?
Please tell me about any paper that I can use.

Best Regards.

Using delta delta Ct in combination with efficiency correction is a simplified approach to using a standard curve (the deltadelta Ct corresponds to the intercept and efficiency correction to the slope). However, it is not recommended, since the accuracy in the estimate of GMO content depends on a single standard, which makes it highly unreliable. Correct approach is used in GenEx. Using reverse calibration the uncertainties in the estimated GMO levels are calculated, as well as the precision of the standard curve. This is critical for any professional work, where customers usually request this information. Also, with GenEx the limit of detection of any GMO process, from sample preparation to analysis, can be calculated. This information is also requested by clients.

Good luck
