linear quantities-control sample

Postby mdube » Fri Jan 22, 2016 5:35 pm

I'm currently analyzing qPCR data with GenEx.

I've three groups (untreated and two different treatments) for each tested chemical.

I've transformed results to linear quantities after normalization to reference genes. However, even if I selected "group 1" as the reference group for relative quantities, this group's average is not exactly 1. What did I do wrong and if it is normal due to some algorithm, is there a way to change it back to 1?

Thank you very much for your help

Normalization is based on log scale. Convert the data to log scale and the expression in your control group will add to zero (in linear scale the product of the reference sanples' expressions will be 1).
