pre-export

Postby Muriel » Fri Aug 08, 2008 11:02 am

Hi Amin,

What way should I tag my technical repeats in the set up of sample names/gene names in the BIOMARK software in order to make Genex able to automatically re-arrange my data?
Note that the tech repeats can either be realised in the assay side of the chip or in the sample side of it...
Are there any other important points to take care of pre-export?

Regards,
Muriel

Repeats

Postby Mikael Kubista » Fri Aug 08, 2008 12:56 pm

Muriel,
My understanding is (Amin correct me if I am wrong) that any samples labelled with the same name will end up as one kind of repeat in one classification column and any genes labelled with the same name will end up as repeats in another classification column. When pre-processing the data in the GenEx editor you specify which classification column contains the different kinds of repeats, so you have flexibility. Them, of course, the natural organization is that repeated samples (samples with the same name) are biological (or sampling) repeats, while genes with the same name are technical repeats.

Thanks for input. Its so valuable to get this working well!

Hi.
Yes Mikael. You are correct. We use the samples and Genes names to identify the repeats.
