T-test bootstrap and Lda

Postby Eyalgre » Thu Nov 08, 2012 12:08 am

I own the Genex pro version, and we are trying to optimize the best miRNAs signature that will discriminate between two groups.
The first test we wanted to use is bootstrap t-test or bootstrap Mann-witney, but we could not find such option (e.g. bootstrap). This option should allow much better selection (and focusing) of the best discriminator miRNAs as it "shuffles" the samples in many variations and give total score for the ability of each selected miRNA to classify correct the samples (very important in small n).
The other tool we were planning to use but was not found is a variable selection tool (such as LDA- linear discrimination analysis algorithm).
did we miss these important tools somehow?

Bootstrap is usually not used for t-test and Mann-Whitney. But have you tried the dynamic PCA? That is considered best method for varable selection. But it is available in GenEx enterprise only. Download the trial version and test!

Good luck
