using test samples in a safed SOM

Postby a.sieuwerts » Sun Oct 02, 2011 6:49 pm

I have created two networks that should both allow me to categrorize samples in 2 groups based on the expression of 9 and 12 genes, respectively. For this I used a training set of samples with data of all together 96 different genes, with all genes but the 9 and 12 genes, respectively, de-activated in the data manager tab.

Firstly, when I open the saved networks, I get the same information for both networks, despite the difference in the number of genes. This has me worried as I expected different numbers.

Secondly, should the genes in my test set be in the same ranking order as used for the training set, i.e the order I get when I open the training set in the View managed data tab? Or does the network recognize the genes that can be used?

Dear Anieta.

I can see the problem. Please give me a few days to look into this issue. The SOM code is complex. But I think that I will have time to fix this problem untill the next update (comming within 2 weeks).
