No administrator priviledges work-around

Postby MultiD Support » Thu Jul 03, 2008 9:20 am

When it comes to installation on Windows you typically need to have administrator priviledges: first to install GenEx and then the first time you run GenEx (right-click on the .exe file for the program and choose "run as administrator"). However, there is a work-around if you dont have administrator priviledges. What you need to do is to install GenEx in another directory than the default. Instead of installing GenEx in C:\Program Files\MultiD\GenEx (the default location) I suggest you install it in C:\Documents and Settings\Your username\MultiD\GenEx (or some other location which belong to Your username). After that you should be able to run GenEx.

Files not visible under the directory
C:\Program Files\Multid\Genex
in VISTA then you can find them under
C:\Users\your name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Multid\Genex

This is because admin rights under vista that disallow you to save files in the program files directory.
